The Cummings Method is designed to maximize the 80% of the brain that grows during the first five years. Children spend their days in free-flowing, independence-based and learner-centered environments that create excitement for, engagement with, and successful acquisition of both foreign languages and basic preschool learning objectives.

Open space, natural light, freedom to roam.

Open a world like no other to young learners that they can’t experience anywhere else! Take their intellect and imagination beyond the walls of their immediate surroundings and build places where they learn, connect, and expand into the greatest versions of themselves.

 
 

Pedagogy

Montessori meets Emilia

Interest-led learning that allows children to focus on building practical and imaginative life skills in their own ways, as often as they want, and at their own pace.

Spaces designed with activities to be chosen and returned to simple areas of purpose centered around the desired skill development.

The Cummings Method is designed to expose each learner to at least three languages simultaneously and up to five total within the first five years.

Every child will identify their local community and understand the people, teams, and objects in it.

As global citizens, most activities incorporate a geographical, cultural, and language perspective.

2. Daily Structure

The structure and duration of the day can remain flexible as long as daily objectives are met. This allows both learners and teachers to flow naturally throughout the day, creating minimal strain due to behavior, developmental or emotional challenges typically faced in early childhood environments. It also encourages learners to choose activities that keep them interested and engaged while they build the foundations for who they’ll become and the futures they’ll create.

3. Spiritual Safety™

A concept of discipline that approaches learning and behavior from a perspective that “in each moment, children are learning exactly what they are supposed to be learning in the exact moment they are supposed to be learning it, and that is enough”.

The capacity to learn is directly correlated to a learner’s motivation, will, and the delivery of information. When children perceive their environment to be verbally, emotionally and intellectually safe, it gives them the opportunity to become full expressions of themselves and absorb information in the ways that suit them best.
